Rebecca Patterson Markowitz

Rebecca Patterson Markowitz is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) and embodiment scholar with a PhD in human geography from UNC-Chapel Hill.

She brings a unique and interdisciplinary approach to her somatic work. She offers Somatic Experiencing™ and Somatic Experiencing Touch™, a gentle modality of energy work that supports nervous systems regulation.

She believes that healing is a relational process. Working together you will establish goals and set intentions for your sessions and your body.

Clients have said she is gentle, compassionate, playful, and curious.

Originally from Tucson, Arizona, she enjoys spending time in NC’s many bodies of water.

I brought our 2 year old daughter to see Erin for some ongoing health issues, and she was really fantastic. There were toys for her to play with, and Erin was super patient and gentle. She provided a thoughtful and informative assessment of a persistent cough that our pediatrician had shrugged off as normal. And thanks to an effective herbal formula she prescribed our daughter, we were able to avoid the prolonged use of Miralax, which we were really grateful for.
