Massage

We offer various types of massage and body work to fit all your needs.

Swedish Massage

The most common type of massage is Swedish massage therapy. It involves soft, long, kneading strokes, as well as light, rhythmic, tapping strokes on topmost layers of muscles. This is combined with movement of the joints. By relieving muscle tension, Swedish therapy can be both relaxing and energizing.

Deep Tissue Massage

Best used to help alleviate certain painful, stiff “trouble spots” in your body. The massage therapist uses slow, deliberate strokes that focus pressure on layers of muscles, tendons, or other tissues deep under your skin.

Pre and Postnatal massage

Prenatal massage offers great comfort and support. It improves blood, lymph, and other body flows involved in the growing and changing pregnant body. It supports the mothers mood, improves, sleep, decreases stress and pain.
Postpartum massages include many of the same elements of regular massage. Women who receive massage after giving birth typically notice numerous benefits to their body and mood, which help with postpartum healing.

Sports Massage

Therapeutic sports massage is a type of massage technique that focuses on treating soft tissue aches, pain, and injuries that are associated with professional or recreational activities. Massage can reduce muscle stiffness and improve relaxation by reducing heart rate and blood pressure.

Thai Massage

Thai massage is a healing art that combines assisted yoga stretching, massage, acupressure, traction, rocking, rhythmic compression, and energy work. Sessions are unique in that they can be done either on floor or on the table. Thai Massage can help relieve muscular tension and tightness, counter the effects of sitting all day, help with injury prevention and rehabilitation, and decrease anxiety and stress.

Reflexology

Integrative Reflexology is a bodywork technique that creates a deeply relaxing and healing effect on the body focusing on energy meridians and specific points on the feet, hands and ears.  It can treat major systems of the body, internal organs, and obliterates stress.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone massage is a type of massage therapy that involves the use of smooth, heated stones. The massage therapist places the hot stones on specific points on your body, and may also hold the stones while giving the massage. The localized heat and weight of the stones warms and relaxes muscles, allowing the massage therapist to apply deeper pressure to those areas without causing discomfort.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is an alternative medicine therapy that treats skeletal muscle immobility and pain by relaxing contracted muscles, improving blood and lymphatic circulation, and stimulating the stretch reflex in muscles.

Cupping Massage

Cupping is a form of Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM). Silicone cups help create a vacuum that pulls soft tissue away from underlying structures, helping release myofascial restrictions and increasing local circulation to support tissue health. Temporary painless marks resembling bruises will sometimes appear after cupping therapy. These are due to the unlocking of stagnant blood/fluid and typically disappear within a week post-treatment.

Lymphatic Breast Massage

This relaxing massage can relieve breast tenderness, reduce engorgement, unblock plugged ducts, improve skin tone and increase milk production.

Fertility Massage

Enjoy a relaxing massage to ease your nervous system and enhance blood flow to enhance fertility. This work is informed by training in Arvigo™ Techniques of Abdominal Therapy and over 15 years experience working with people on their fertility journeys around the world. These sessions are great for people on their journey to becoming pregnant including IVF and other fertility support. There is a short intake to make sure the session and plan is tailored for your needs.

Labor Stimulation Massage

Done after 40 weeks gestation and with consent from a health care provider, this treatment is done to help stimulate the onset of labor by using massage, specific meridian points, a safe blend of essential oils, homeopathic remedies, and a big dose of relaxation!

This practice promotes bonding, stimulates healthy baby development, sensory awareness and helps alleviate common discomforts. Your instructor will be demonstrating the techniques on a doll and you get to practice on your baby –or on a doll if baby is asleep or not in the mood.

I have been receiving massages from Kathy for the past month. I reached out to her for postpartum care and I am so glad I found her. As an individual, she is gentle and kind and as a massage therapist, she is the best of the best. As a massage therapist, she is incredible. I have felt relief in pains that were even present before pregnancy. She nailed my sciatica pain and gave me so much relief that I hadn’t experienced in Months. I recommend her one hundred percent. You are in safe hands if you work with Kathy!

I receive massage therapy with Kathy and acupuncture with Erin at Restoring Balance.
The space is accepting and nonjudgmental and my health is consistently taken seriously. My body has always been handled with great care and respect. I feel blessed to have found healers as knowledgeable and kind as Erin and Kathy. Their care has helped to change what I am capable of as a person navigating the world with chronic pain and illness. Gratitude is not a strong enough word; life-changing care is more apt.

I brought our 2 year old daughter to see Erin for some ongoing health issues, and she was really fantastic. There were toys for her to play with, and Erin was super patient and gentle. She provided a thoughtful and informative assessment of a persistent cough that our pediatrician had shrugged off as normal. And thanks to an effective herbal formula she prescribed our daughter, we were able to avoid the prolonged use of Miralax, which we were really grateful for. In both pediatric visits and our own acupuncture sessions, we’ve found Erin to be a grounded and incredibly intuitive practitioner. She’s a gem of the triangle, and we feel lucky to be living in close proximity! We will definitely be continuing to seek her consultation and care for our daughter and ourselves.

Cristina’s energy medicine treatment for the SI joint pain worked wonders. Made an 8 hour car ride with no problem. Would not have happened without her.

Kathy is very attentive and responsive. She tailors the treatment as she responds to feedback from the client. She also offers suggestions as to what I can do beyond the massage sessions to further my goals.

Kathy is kind and generous and her Thai yoga massage is transformational. I’ve had many massages in the past but none get the knots out like her Thai massage.
